See this El Camino. It’s a 1968 SS model. While not exactly a Round Door Rolls it is somewhat of a coveted treasure among aficionados of muscle. The SS belongs to Tim Divers of Divers Street Rods and friends tell him it would be worth more if left unmolested. However because the Camino holds a special place in Tim’s heart (it served as a “tour vehicle” for his band and a college car for his daughter) he says he’d rather hack it up into a rod thus reducing its collectable value and removing the

The Inglourious Basterds of Divers Street Rods

See these cars? These cars do one thing and one thing only – and that’s kill Natzis! The film focuses on the history of hot rods and hot rodding, as well as the dedicated gearheads who travel cross country for American hot rod events, car shows, and drag racing. Made popular during the 1950’s, American hot rods have become an important part of automobile history. Established hot rod personalities, like racecar driver Chuck Jones, appear in the film. The film also describes how as it became more popular, hot rodding became almost a cult: followers consider classic cars their idols. Vintage street rods and custom hot rods are everywhere in this film, which is a must for car enthusiasts and anyone interested in the drag racing history. July 20, 2009 by Classic Cars · Leave a Comment

This past weekend, over 7,000 hot rods, street rods, muscle cars and classics invaded Syracuse, New York for the annual Syracuse Nationals.
